
Keanna's Obituary

Oakland, California - Keanna Marianne Wright, 23, went on to be with the Lord on October 13, 2023.
Keanna had been hiking with co-workers from Cisco Systems (San Jose, CA) on Mission Peak in Fremont, California and experienced a medical crisis. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 22, 2000. Keanna was a joyful, loving, and calm spirit who exuded grace and style.
Keanna was not only brilliant, but gifted in art and enjoyed cooking for her loved ones. Her life began
with her twin sister Kendyl Marielle whom she loved dearly. As a teen, Keanna was an Achievable
Dreams tennis student. She and her twin sister Kendyl went on to be Co-Captains of the Kecoughtan
High Tennis Team. Keanna played in the band at Spratley (Kilgore) Gifted Center and the marching band
at Kecoughtan High school and was first chair saxophonist. As a child, Keanna, her twin sister Kendyl,
and big sister Virginia swam on the Elizabeth Lakes swim team. Keanna went on to graduate in
computer engineering from the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University
(NCAT) Magna Cum Laude in May 2022. Keanna was a friend to many and her smile lit up the campus.
Keanna moved from Greensboro, North Carolina to San Jose in January of 2023 to work for Cisco
Systems at their headquarters in San Jose, California. After moving to San Jose, Keanna quickly made
new friends and found a west coast family. She enjoyed new restaurants and cuisines with co-workers
and friends, went on hikes, and enjoyed concerts, comedy shows, and sporting events.
Keanna was preceded in death by her Grandfathers, Samuel L. Taylor and Kenneth D. Wright, Sr., her
Aunt, Felicia M. Wright, and two Uncles, Mark A. Kelley and Douglas K. Jennings, her Great-Grandparents,
Elder James and Carrie Taylor, Lyclus and Virginia Foster, Eva Long, and Maurice and Ora Wright.
She is survived by her parents, Joan T. Wright and Kenneth D. Wright II (Quincy); her twin sister, Kendyl
M. Wright; older sister, Virginia V. Cutright (Edwin); two grandmothers Barbara F. Taylor, Dr. Marion P.
Wright; three Aunts, Cheryl T. Kelley, Lydia E. Taylor, and Cherise W. Jennings; cousins Christopher M.
Kelley (Krystilyn), Martin A.X. Kelley, Alexia Jennings, Faith Jennings, special Aunt Tracey Allen, two step-
sisters, Madeline and Zora Brown, and a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held, Noon, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at New Hope
Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, Virginia. Interment will be private at a later date at
Hampton Memorial Gardens.
